Founder & Advocate

LeNora Harrison
Founder Advocate, Survivor, Advocate, RN
As both a Registered Nurse and survivor, LeNora Harrison founded Dream Beyond Abuse from a place of lived experience, compassion, and purpose. Having personally endured domestic abuse, alongside years of serving in the healthcare field, she witnessed the lasting emotional, physical, and psychological impact violence has on individuals and families. She also recognized the gaps that often leave survivors feeling unheard, unsupported, and alone during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
Driven by a vision to create something different, LeNora built Dream Beyond Abuse as a safe and empowering space where survivors are met with compassion, confidentiality, practical support, and genuine understanding. Her commitment to trauma-informed care is shaped not only by her professional expertise as a nurse, but also by her own journey of survival, healing, and resilience.
Through advocacy, community engagement, and meaningful resource connections, LeNora remains dedicated to helping survivors rediscover hope, rebuild confidence, and move toward brighter futures. Her leadership fosters a culture of empathy, strength, and action throughout Dream Beyond Abuse, reminding every individual who reaches out that healing and empowerment are possible.
Our Commitment to Healing
Dream Beyond Abuse began with one driving belief: that everyone deserves safety, dignity, and support when facing the realities of domestic violence. Lenora Harrison, a dedicated advocate with years of healthcare experience, recognized a critical gap in direct, accessible help for survivors in her community. Inspired by countless stories of individuals and families struggling in silence, Lenora envisioned a space where compassion, confidentiality, and practical assistance would be available to all who needed it.
Guided by her healthcare background, she assembled a team dedicated to trauma-informed care - responding not only to physical needs but to the emotional and psychological wounds that often remain unseen. From the very first day, Dream Beyond Abuse has placed dignity, choice, and personalized support at the center of every interaction. This approach allows survivors to be met where they are, whether in the midst of crisis or beginning the journey to recovery, with resources tailored to their individual needs.
By forging trusted partnerships across the Fort Mill and Rock Hill, Dream Beyond Abuse continually expands access to shelter placements, counseling, resource referrals, and advocacy. Every story shared and every step forward is a reminder that healing is possible when community surrounds survivors with care and hope. As this work continues, Dream Beyond Abuse honors its founding promise: to help every survivor move from crisis toward dreaming of a life filled with strength and possibility.
